About The Joy Project
The Joy Project is specifically catered to the direct needs of families of Domestic Violence. This project will provide housing, mental/emotional/physical restoration, education, support, and transitional services directly to families escaping from the horrors of domestic violence. This is a long-term project aimed at complete recovery, not just rescue and release. This project brings women and children in Domestic Violence situations to a safe place to call home and recover. This is not just a place for them to stay but a transitional program that takes them through restoring their lives, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This is a program that they work through which includes counseling, therapies, self-defense, addiction recovery (outsourced), budgeting, education, job placement, and future assistance as needed.
Average Stay Time:
9 to 12 months secure housing and support accommodations
Schedule:
First 3 months (Intense Healing Process)
This process allows new individuals and or families to come on board without the worries of expenses for living and lodging. During this time they will be participating in a sleuth of activities ranging from Psychological support, self-discovery, family counseling,
financial planning, life planning.
3 – 9 Month Period
Continues process includes budgeting, employment assessment, education (job training), job placement.
9 – 12 months Period
Graduating process, moving towards independence, reclamation back into society.
